Investing in the service industry
Industry-Stars.com – The Professional Network for the Service Industry
The service industry powers restaurants, bars, hotels, wineries, and venues across America. Millions of talented professionals build careers in hospitality, yet there has never been a single professional network designed specifically for them. While corporate professionals use platforms like LinkedIn to connect, build their careers, and find opportunity, the service industry still relies on word-of-mouth, social media groups, and outdated job boards.
Industry-Stars is changing that!
Industry-Stars is the professional network built specifically for hospitality professionals — bartenders, servers, chefs, managers, baristas, and event staff. It gives them a place to showcase their experience, highlight certifications, build their reputation, and connect directly with employers in their local market. With a professional profile that acts as a living resume, service industry professionals can discover new opportunities and apply to jobs instantly.
Launching first in the greater Charlotte region, Industry-Stars is designed to build strong local networks where employers and professionals can connect quickly and efficiently. As more workers and businesses join, the platform becomes more powerful — creating the same network effect that made platforms like LinkedIn indispensable for millions of professionals.
Industry-Stars is building the future professional network of the service industry!
Over the past several years, I've been developing an idea for a centralized hiring and resume platform built specifically for the service industry — something that, surprisingly, still doesn't exist in a meaningful way. While platforms like LinkedIn transformed hiring for professional roles (and were acquired by Microsoft for $26.2B), the service sector — with over 116M workers in the U.S. — remains highly fragmented across word-of-mouth, social media, and generic job boards.
That's the opportunity behind Industry-Stars
A LinkedIn-style platform built for restaurants, bars, and hospitality. The approach is intentionally local-first: launching in the Northern Charlotte market (Concord / Huntersville / Lake Norman) to build strong network density between employers and workers, then expanding into Charlotte and outward. In hiring platforms, local density drives value — proving success early in one market creates a much stronger path to scale.

Local Opportunity
The service industry experiences extremely high turnover (often 70–100% annually), creating constant hiring demand. Today, the average cost to post a job is around $200+ per listing, often producing unqualified or non-local applicants. Most operators end up relying on multiple channels just to find a few viable candidates. Industry-Stars replaces that with a simple monthly subscription, giving businesses unlimited access to a localized pool of service industry professionals — enabling faster hiring, better matches, and significantly lower cost over time.
